Policy Statement on Environmental, Social, and Governmental Issues

Background:

At Sage Marketing Advisors, Inc. we assist companies with the creation of successful marketing strategies and marketing automation programs to help establish, grow and reinforce their brands. We currently work with many companies across the United States. At our company we look to foster an environment of diversity, teamwork and respect for others. We also believe that our Sage Marketing has the responsibility to create a greater positive impact in the world in which we all live.

Guiding Principles:

Collaboration – We believe that all of our employees and clients have opinions that matter and can all play a role in expanding the work we do to help make the world a better place in the future. We are open to new ideas and suggestions that may lead us to working with as many people and companies as possible to help better the lives of those around us.

Giving Back – As part of our company’s long-term mission we have established an organization called Sage Foundation. Our goal is to help support teens across the United States who are suffering with anxiety and depression. Our work helps provide educational programs that can be given in local school districts and also by coordinating in-person events where teens can have access to the tools and support they need to help increase their happiness as they grow into adulthood.  All employees at Sage Marketing are encouraged to volunteer with charities they feel most aligned with and by working as mentors with local youth. We provide company paid time for our employees to volunteer as a benefit to help accomplish this.

Accountability - In our work we look to help people and companies grow and expand their businesses. Through our work we develop extensive relationships with our clients and also in the local communities they serve. We believe that there are constant opportunities to help reduce waste and generate healthy and sustainable ways for companies to grow as they work with us.  As part of our work we also reserve the right to stop working with a company that is not consistent with our values.

How do we integrate ESG issues?

As we look for future clients and companies to work with to assist with their marketing, part of the criteria we use in determining if a company is a good fit for our services is that company’s accountability, leadership quality, strategy, their management of human capital, and its efficient use of resources.

These criteria depend on the size of the company and also the industry in which it operates. Examples of ESG characteristics we look at are:

  • Any long-term environmental considerations and the current regulatory environment of that industry or particular company
  • A company’s incentive structure and how they reward their employees
  • Supply chain risks, the use of underpaid workers or minors if they manufacture their products abroad
  • The quality and diversity of an ownership team or executive board
  • The current regulatory environment, especially if the company operates in an industry that is highly regulated
  • If a company has established guidelines for corporate giving and offering employee volunteer opportunities

Our Ultimate Goal:

Our goal at Sage Marketing is to help companies grow by implementing our programs. We believe that we have a greater responsibility to help promote sustainable efforts in the local communities where our clients operate as well. We also believe that as our company continues to be successful one measurement of our success will be in how we have helped make local communities better as part of our efforts. By aligning our work with a greater sense of purpose we believe that our company will be stronger as we increase our impact in the areas we have chosen.
